For Gretel and Hansel, we reimagined a classic fairytale with a visual language that felt both intimate and unsettling. Our lighting design embraced low-key, soft, and warm tones - crafted with diffused sources and lower colour temperatures - to create a world that felt cozy on the surface, but emotionally charged underneath. Using motivated and selective lighting, we drew the viewer’s attention to specific narrative beats, letting the atmosphere speak as loudly as the dialogue. Every light choice was intentional, built to serve the story’s emotional rhythm and draw out the characters' inner states.

Framing and camera movement played in harmony with this subtle lighting. We designed a visual flow that transitioned seamlessly between close-ups, mediums, and wides, allowing space for emotion and silence. Gentle dollies and soft pans kept the pacing contemplative and fluid - guiding the audience through the narrative without ever breaking the spell. The result: a measured, dynamic visual experience where every frame deepened the connection between character and world. This wasn’t just coverage - it was choreography.
